Abstract

Agriculture is an important sector for economic growth and food security, especially in areas like Aguilar, Pangasinan, where farming is the primary source of income. To address issues such as limited expert guidance, insufficient data management, and a lack of integrated technical solutions, this research introduced CropCareConnect, an online consultation, report management, and GIS platform designed to enhance crop management and sustainability in Aguilar. The objectives of the study are to identify the existing processes in managing reports of the agricultural crops in Aguilar, Pangasinan, to design and develop the features of the system, and to test the acceptability of the proposed system. The researchers used surveys, interviews, and system acceptability tests to gather data from farmers and agricultural experts. It evaluated existing processes and tested the CropCareConnect system’s acceptability based on functionality, usability, and impact on productivity. Findings showed that existing manual processes rely on paper-based systems and MS Office tools caused missing documents, limited accessibility, and difficulty tracking field activities. Limited manpower, a lack of real-time updates, and scheduling delays for field visits all hampered consultation. The developed system addresses these challenges through real-time consultations, GIS-based land management, automated reporting, and an intuitive interface. Acceptability tests showed high satisfaction, with users ranking functional suitability, performance efficiency, and usability as "Highly Acceptable," with an overall weighted mean of 4.71. This research provides an adaptable strategy for incorporating digital technologies into agriculture, supporting future studies on GIS in crop management.
