Abstract

This study explores the design, development, and comprehensive evaluation of "Intellibin," a cutting-edge smart waste management system integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Addressing the critical waste management challenges in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, Intellibin automates waste classification, optimizes collection routes, and enables real-time monitoring through user-friendly platforms. Using ISO 9126 software quality metrics, the system demonstrated high levels of functionality, reliability, and usability, indicating its significant potential for promoting sustainable and efficient waste management practices. Intellibin contributes toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG II (Sustainable Cities and Communities), by promoting efficient and sustainable waste practices. The project concludes that intelligent systems can improve urban waste management, and recommends broader deployment and policy support.
