Abstract

The “Nutritious Recipe: A Mobile Application Recipe Search Using Machine Learning” was an Android mobile application that helped users easily find recipes suitable for their diets, allergens, and available ingredients. This project was carried out for individuals with strict diet requirements and allergies, aiming to help them find healthy and appropriate recipes tailored to their needs. The Nutritious Recipe served as one of the solutions that made it easier for people to search for recipes by utilizing machine learning object detection to identify ingredients available at home and recommend recipes based on the recognized ingredients. The objectives of the study is to identify the best algorithm to use to develop the application “Nutritious Recipe”, to determine the features, and to test the acceptability using the ISO 9126-1 by McCall (1997). Preliminary tests achieved a high accuracy level in detecting ingredients but were still limited to salt, sugar, and black pepper. The initiative promoted personalized diet management, increased food safety, enhanced meal planning, and improved health outcomes.
