Journal's Milestone

The illustrious history of PSU Research Journals reflects the university’s unwavering dedication to advancing knowledge across various fields, aligning with the vision of PSU's University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas.

In 2017, the PSU Research Journals began their publication journey under the visionary leadership of former President Dr. Dexter Buted and former Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation Dr. Paulo Cenas. They, along with the university's distinguished scholars such as Dr. Francis Albert Argente, and the dedicated editorial boards led by Dr. Frederick Patacsil, Dr. Christopher Cocal, Dr. Philip Queroda, Dr. Irene De Vera, Dr. Jun Camara, and other esteemed members, played pivotal roles in establishing the foundation for the seven journals.

The PSU Journal of Education, Management, and Social Sciences was inaugurated with the intention of offering educators, management professionals, and social scientists an avenue to share their insights and discoveries through contributions. The PSU Journal of Engineering, Technology, and Computing Sciences was dedicated to cutting-edge research in engineering, technology, and computing. Recognizing the interconnectedness of knowledge across disciplines, the PSU Multidisciplinary Research Journal was established to serve as a melting pot for research findings. Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars. The PSU Journal of Advanced Studies has been dedicated to showcasing ground-breaking research that pushes the boundaries of inquiry. It has become a forum for scholars who strive for excellence within their fields. The PSU Journal of Gender Studies demonstrates the university’s belief, in promoting inclusivity and diversity in discussions. This journal offers an opportunity to explore and question prevailing ideas about gender across fields of study. Additionally, the Philippine Journal of Extension emphasizes PSU's active involvement in community outreach and engagement. It serves as a platform for sharing extension activities and their positive effects on communities, further reflecting the university’s dedication to progress.

Today, the PSU Research Journals have undergone a transformation to expand their reach and coverage. To understand the significance of collaboration and maximize the influence of research dissemination, these journals have been combined into clusters.

The combination of the PSU Journal of Natural and Allied Sciences, the PSU Journal of Engineering, Technology, and Computing Sciences, and the PSU Journal of Advanced Studies, into a cluster has brought about a strategy. This strategic convergence promotes the exchange of information and knowledge across fields, fosters connections, between disciplines and encouraging a comprehensive understanding of different subjects.

Furthermore, merging the PSU Multidisciplinary Research Journal, PSU Journal of Education, Management, and Social Sciences, and the Philippine Journal of Extension into one cluster enhances the impact of these journals. This streamlined approach not only improves the process but also provides readers with a wide-ranging resource that covers diverse research topics.

Enhancing the Journal of Gender Studies at the international level enhances its impact on the global arena.

This strategic decision highlights the university’s dedication to promoting the sharing of knowledge, encouraging collaboration, across disciplines, and expanding the influence and scope of the journals in today's changing environment.
